Customize Your Handmade Table or Desk with Confidence

Ordering a custom dining table, desk, or coffee table from Canon Wood Company means creating a one-of-a-kind piece tailored to your style, space, and story. We know—choosing wood species, finishes, leg styles, and dimensions can feel overwhelming if you’re not building furniture every day.

That’s where we come in.

Our custom furniture process is designed to be simple, supportive, and stress-free. We’ll walk you through every decision—step by step—and we’re always just a phone call or email away if you need more guidance. Most projects start at $1500 and go up from there depending on the type of wood, the materials used and the size of the project.

Before your order is finalized and any deposit is made, we’ll connect directly with you to confirm every detail. No guesswork. No surprises. Just clear communication and a commitment to getting it right.

Handcrafted live edge dining table made from locally-sourced hardwood, built by Canon Wood Co. in Atlanta, Georgia.

Step 1: Size

Once you’ve measured your space, send us the exact width, length, and shape you need.

Live edge tables: Expect natural variation in the edges—width may vary slightly from end to end.

Step 2: Style

These choices comedown to the following:

- single slab table
- book-matched slabs (2 nearly identical slabs mirroring one another forming the appearance of one slab)
- epoxy river or epoxy accents
- clean/straight edge

Step 3: Edge Profile

This choice comes down to live edge vs clean/straight edge.

If you choose a straight edge, we typically do a 45 degree chamfer along the bottom edge for a bit more character.

Step 4: Wood

All of our slabs are locally sourced in the Southeast USA. These primarily include black walnut, maple, white oak, pine, and sycamore

We source our table bases from a number of metal table base suppliers. Examples are as below, but we typically offer 5 main options.
